Transforming food systems is crucial to overcoming the limits to growth and promoting social prosperity while respecting planetary boundaries, said Marta Messa, the Secretary General of Slow Food, at the Beyond Growth 2023 conference held at the European Parliament in Brussels.

Food systems should be reorganised holistically to increase resilience, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and prevent the loss of natural resources and biodiversity. At the same time, fair economic returns must be ensured for all actors along the entire chain, while food insecurity, which affects millions of people, must be combated.

Marta Messa will be speaking at the International Food Innovation Conference taking place at the Gottlieb Duttweiler Institute on 19 June 2024, where she will talk about the sustainable food culture movement. Sign up now!
